And this is not a good wow by any means. I haven’t been really paying much attention to politics. And by that I mean, I don’t engage myself in conversations about politics with co-workers, family, or friends. I know who I’m voting for. I know why I’m voting for him. And I’m fine with that. I don’t need to try to convince people to vote the way I’m gonna vote. That’s not my deal.
Today, though, something kind of woke me up.
A friend told me that they saw a pickup truck in Sunbury (a rather small rural community) with a sign (made from a cardboard pizza round) in the window that said “Be a man who’s bigger, don’t vote for the n***er”
(only they left the letters in place of where I had the asterisks).
Um. Really? It IS 2008, right? Are people STILL so near sighted? Seriously? That just perplexes me. I’m just naive, I guess. But are you really going to tell me that this rednec f**k doesn’t have any Charlie Pride in his 8-track collection?
It’s just ignorant and sad.
I seriously hope he gets pulled over by two African American cops.
I’ve got two words if that happens: Cavity Search.
Unfortunately, some people are still that narrow minded and bigoted. I\’m sure if you talked with him (while he\’s standing next to his high flying dixie flag) he would raise a Lynyrd Skynyrd 8 track like the bible and say \”The south shall rise again!\”… to which you are allowed to chuckle at him and plainly say \”Um, no… no it won\’t.\”
